Selected Web Sites

Not Yet Foundation

Not Yet Foundation

The client wanted to have a website that would illustrate the varied interests of the foundation and serve as a point of entry for prospective grant applicants.  A design brief was created to narrow down options so that a site could be an original design within a limited budget.  In addition to original design elements, the site uses several unique elements including a slideshow.  Training was provided in site management so that the organization could maintain the site content and make regular updates.

Book Promotion

clarke-300The client needed a clean and simple platform for listing his published work.  The assets were images he could provide of his book and an illustration from the book.  After consultation on content needed, the client provided the content and the entire site went from planning to live within a week.

Video Integration

The Brooker

This site is an example of integration of video into a WordPress environment.  The site was developed to be lean and afford seamless integration of various video effects.  The design emphasis was on clarity and ease of navigation.

Personal Design

Hawaiian Island Massage

Client had many unique image assets and a desire to have a web site for their business that reflected their sense of fun and purpose while being warm and welcoming.  Using their image assets and existing logo, we created a site that reflected who they were and what they offered to their clientele.

Portfolio E-Commerce

Portfolio E-Commerce

This site acts as a portfolio for the artist’s work and as a gateway to online sales and offers an example of multiple items on one screen and client-specific design.

Online Publication

Online Publication

Using password protection this website allows the writer to share full length manuscripts with selected readers. The same system could be used to share writings with the general public or to sell access to the works.

Public Outreach

Port Hadlock Sewer

This project began as a traditional HTML website with feedback form to address the needs of public outreach during the course of planning and production of a public works project.  It was deemed important to give a feel of the Jefferson County web site, but to make this site distinctively separate.  After a run of several years we converted the site into a WordPress environment so that almost no difference between the original and the new site could be seen by the user, but with added features to allow the client to manage content from their own office.

Easy Online Sales

Easy Online Sales

Chocolate #9 is a product with wide appeal and the client needed a simple web site to begin promotion and to offer an outlet for direct sales.  After some training the client now manages the site.  In addition we created a specific plug-in for the client so that visitors from other countries can be redirected to his international distributors.

Members Only Support

Members Only Site

Using consultation to determine the feature mix needed to support the membership, Word-Ware leveraged a base installation of WordPress into a feature-rich member’s site with forum, document tracking and messaging system to aid in maintaining an institutional memory and enhance group communication.

Educational & Informational

HistoryLink.org

Word-Ware developed the original information architecture for HistoryLink, the first online encyclopedia in US.  Working with the writers and editors, we created a database to manage the content and provide a logical means of extracting the content.  The resulting concept called for two interface designs: one interface for a web-based publishing system and another interface for audience access to the content.  Both provide a great deal of flexibility and search options.
