Educational

study -->
Developed the original information architecture for HistoryLink, the first online encyclopedia in US. Working
with the writers and
editors, we created
a database to manage
the content and provide
a logical means of
extracting the content.
The resulting concept
called for two interface
designs: one interface
for a web-based publishing
system and another
interface for audience
access to the content.
Both provide a great
deal of flexibility
and search options. |

Using the name as a design element, we developed a simple site to be clear and easy to use while at the same time adding a sense of fun for what could be dry content. |

Word-Ware helped
develop project
specifications for
the original grant
application. We
developed two user
interfaces, one
that was ADA compliant
and one that was
aimed at the general
public. We designed
and constructed
the database for
web-based publishing
and content management
and created the
site. |
Chicago Collaborative

Public Outreach
/ Informational
This
project is to address
the needs of public
outreach during the
course of planning
and production of
a public works project.
It was deemed important
to give a feel of
the Jefferson County
web site, but to make
this site distinctively
separate. |

Low Cost
Direct Marketing
Limited
budget doesn't mean
limited access to
the web. This site
is included as a good
example of a cost-effective web presence
that is clean and
easy to use. There
is little in the way
of graphics design,
and thus this site
is accessible to a
wide range of users
and computers. |

NHBarnett CAD Outsource
CAD Design service Client needed a simple site that could quickly identify the type of service provided. The client had a business card already designed and wanted the site to tie in with it. Thus the site was developed using the general colors and motifs of the business card while using a background technique to evoke CAD services and frame the small amount of content. |

Company-Wide
Information &
Communications System
Word-Ware, through
consultation and
group meetings,
established specifications
for the creation
of a company-wide
intranet that would
serve as a central
information system
for 10 retail stores
across the state.
We created and deployed
a system that allows
information and
files to be shared
between the stores
while at the same
time allowing the
administration and
management of the
system to be handled
by their own staff
rather than needing
to have their system
maintained by an
outside contractor.
A few systems Word-Ware
designed and built
to enhance internal
efficiency:
- Company Message
System
- Documents Management
System
- Sign Builder
System (To integrate
prices into signage
automatically
rather than to
remake signs for
each price change.)
- Door Shop System
(To make it easier
for sales staff
to create the
complex door shop
forms for custom
door building.)
- Employee Clothing
Order System
- Training Registration
- Human Resource
Job Posting System
- Survey Maker
(easy to use system
for creating surveys
for internal use)

Parker Lumber
Lumber Yard
When Parker Lumber was added to the Dunn Lumber family they needed to quickly upgrade the web site. It needed to retain the independent feel of the unique lumberyard while bringing the web presence up to modern standards. The site was design, built and deployed with in 2 weeks. |
Gerber Productions
Video Production Staying within the framework of an existing site, we upgraded the underlying code to allow ease up updates and to include more video choices. The only thing from the original site that was used was the background image, however the look and feel of the site remained largely the same as the original. |
Joseph W. Duffy

The design for this site required a clean professional look in keeping with the needs and ethics of the services offered. |
Tupper Mack Brower

Micro Marketing
& Customer Support Seattle
Micro needed a modern
look to showcase their
expanded IT support
and a new product
line. Seattle Micro
is one of the oldest
computer support,
repair and sales outlets
in Seattle, and they
needed a new look
and feel for their
company. We created
a new logo design
used on their employee
shirts as well as
the web site and we
developed a new brochure. |
The Two Bells Bar and Grill
Simple Web Presence
Needed a very simple web site to offer basic information about hours that also gives a sense of the style of the establishment. |
West 175 Productions
as seen on PBS Corporate
Branding
We created
three information
and marketing web
sites for this client,
as well as their
Corporate Branding
site. A special
feature for this
client was the creation
of an automatic
e-mail newsletter
system that sent
out free recipes
weekly. |
